CLASSIC RULES & REGULATIONS

(SUBJECT TO REVIEW AND AMENDMENT)

Before and After Each Game

Before each game, your team will have 15 minutes to warm up. If we are running behind schedule, warm-up shall be reduced to 5 minutes. This warm-up begins when the teams playing the previous game leave the ice. This will occur approximately half an hour before the scheduled game time, and on the old ice. Please note you must be ready to go ahead of time if necessary. The warm-up pucks will be there for you. After the warm-up, please pick up the pucks. When warm-up time is over, players must leave the ice promptly! The ice will be flooded between the warm-up and the first period.

After each game, your team will be asked to line up on the blue line for the MVP Awards. Coaching staff will select your own MVP (be ready 10 minutes before the end of your game). After the MVP Awards have been presented, the teams will shake hands and make their way off the ice as quickly as possible so the following game may get underway.

The Committee reserves the right to shorten warm-up, do game MVP presentations off the ice, and/or delete a flood if games are running behind schedule. If this becomes necessary, the person on duty at the rink will advise both teams and the on-ice officials of the change before it happens.

Games

Each game will consist of three 15-minute stop time periods. No touch icing, no red line, and no man short during coincidental minors, etc. in effect for all tournament games. There will be a flood after the warm-up, and between the 2nd and 3rd periods. You will warm up on the old ice.

If a team does not show-up to play, the other team shall be awarded a 5 to 0 victory and shall also be awarded 5 wildcard points. If both teams do not show-up, it shall be recorded as no game (i.e. no points are awarded to either team).

In the event of a tie game during the playoff portion of the tournament, one ten minute, sudden victory period will be played and will begin with teams playing three on three (not including goaltender). The ice condition will be evaluated and a decision will be make if a flood is required after this initial ten minute sudden death period. If teams are still tied, we will play one twenty minute period of 3 on 3 and we will continue until we have a winner.

In the case of penalties during the overtime, for each penalty assessed, the non-penalized team adds a player; the penalized players jumps on the ice at the end of his/her penalty; teams then play 4 on 4, or 5 on 5 until the next whistle.

The Championship game will also have three 15-minute stop time periods, but with a flood between each period.

Teams must be ready to start a game 15 minutes before the schedule start time.

SPECIAL NOTE: If games are cancelled due to inclement weather, tournament games will be shortened in order to complete the preliminary round.

Jerseys

The home team (second one listed on the schedule) will wear their white jerseys; the visiting team their non-whites.

Time outs

Teams will be allowed one time out per game for all games.
